Cinsault is well suited to warmer climates, drier soils and lots of sun; which sums up “terroir” as it is found in West Texas. A native to Southern France, Cinsault is used to make character rich rosés and nice, flirtatious reds. Usually found in blends, the red wines made from Cinsault are soft, fruity and aromatic in youth and can be long lived. McPherson Cellars chose to produce an UNOAKED red with just enough inherent tannin structure to show some strength, but easy drinking and reflective of Cinsault’s seductive side.
